Bouncing between the soft life vs the hustler life this summer forreal 😩 😩
Recently I took a few days off to go to Wales, do a coastal foraging course & spend a day at the beach. It felt like the ultimate soft life cosplay, and it got me thinking "why don't I do more stuff like this?"
Ofc the reason I don't is that your business is the child that won't grow up and gtfo out of your house/start paying rent (I write from my room at my family house where I also don't pay rent). It takes so much energy, money, time & so much of your mental health to keep it going & alive!
In general, the constant fight in my brain is that I'm atm I'm acting like the hustler lifestyle is the one for me, when really all I wanna do is lay on the beach in the Caribbean working a 3 day work week. Orrr I'm paralysed with indecision between the two & binging Netflix all day in bed :D
But let's stop telling ourselves that we need to be grinding 24/7 to get anywhere in life 💹 And that if we're not up at 5am that we're a flop 😴 While it's super true that in business you unavoidably will have to grind most of the time to get to where you wanna go, we also need to make space for play, rest & connection. My best ideas come when I'm rested & recharged, when I've taken the day to go out to swim at Hampstead Heath, or go do a soft life cosplay like a foraging course.
In the clurbbb we spoke about making time to rest this summer, and have set ourselves a challenge to take 1 whole week off our business/jobs/work this summer to spend time with ourselves, friends & family (ok family can be triggering so maybe chosen family ha)
